Introduction to Theory of Change
Full day session – 12 participants
A practical training session introducing organisations to Theory of Change (ToC) – a specific type of methodology for planning, participation, and evaluation. The training looks at how this tool can be used to enable organisations to better achieve their mission and improve social outcomes for their beneficiaries. Training covers the origins of the approach and defines how teams can achieve social change with a systematic approach.
On completion of training each participant will have a basic understanding of ToC and how it can be used in your organisation. As a result of the training each participant will have developed a ToC Model and an evaluation framework to test within their organisations.
A-Z Business planning
Full day session – 12 participants
A practical training session where participants will develop a detailed business plan for establishing a social venture or reaching your goals in an established organisation. We’ll teach you how to write a business plan underpinned by business-modelling processes, profit and loss projections and early stage elevator pitches with a punch. The training also looks at how to conduct cost effective market research and a plethora of hints and tips on how to gain early adopting customers.
Shouting about your work
Full day session – 12 participants
A hands-on training session which will provide practical skills to better promote the great work you and your team are doing. You’ll be given a toolset that will help you understand the importance of shouting about the important work your organisation delivers, developing practical skills for using social media and traditional media platforms. The session will include techniques for delivering a no-nonsense elevator pitch to help secure new supporters as well as basic media training.
Fundraising strategy in a box
Full day session – 12 participants
This training is ideal for smaller Social Enterprises and Charities who want to develop a purposeful fundraising strategy that can support the growth of their work with a mixed portfolio of income streams.
The session is all encompassing and covers the whole fundraise journey whilst breaking it into bitesize learnings. It will provide insight, real food-for-thought and a satisfying impetus for organisations early on in the development of their fundraising strategy. Participants will learn about the different forms of fundraising, the various rates of return and how to allocate resources accordingly.
Data Collection and Measuring Social Impact
Full day session -12 participants
A practical training session looking at how and why data should inform business processes; from service development through to evaluation. Ultimately, data can increase overall organisational performance and income. The session will provide an introduction to Social Impact measurement and how best to communicate it with your key stakeholders. On completion of this course each participant will have a Theory of Change (ToC) Model and an evaluation framework developed for testing within their organisations.
Media training
Full day session – 12 participants
A practical full day training providing participants with techniques and tools on how to manage the media and build strong relationships with key stakeholders. The session will support participants to develop their key media messages, how to write interesting media releases and how to apply a co-production approach to involving individuals with lived experience. Charities and Social Enterprise often struggle to obtain meaningfully media coverage and communicate their key messages.
Creating strategic plans that work
Half day session – 12 participants
Running a charity or social enterprise is no easy feat especially in turbulent times of constant change and increasing demand from the people and places we serve. As trustees, directors and leaders, the need to balance social and commercial objectives is vital if we’re to make an impact. But how do we sustain these daily strategic decisions, and how do you know if the right choices are being made? This practical training session looks at creating strategic plans that work – enabling your organisations to achieve it’s mission.
How to write a killer funding application
Half day session – 12 participants
Funding applications are not all about the forms. This session dives beyond the mundane form filling, and explores how to capitalise on your funding application in today’s competitive market place. This application workshop is a sure way to reveal your organisation’s true value and provide that extra edge.
